UP STUDENTS WIN BIG IN ASIA PACIFIC BUSINESS CASE TILT
A group of students from the Virata School of Business of the University of the Philippines Diliman bagged the top prize in the 2021 Institute of Management Accountants Asia Pacific Student Case Competition.
The UP-VSB Fighting Balloons composed of Nicole Chelsey Pua, Clarizze Faye Mondoy, Von Salosagcol, Isaiah Inocencio and Jamila Domingo analyzed the business case entitled “Should Star Textile Cut Out the Intermediaries?” and presented its management case analysis, recommendations and plans.
The team was coached by Prof. Mikhael Anjelu Magana.
The UP students competed against a team from the Thammasat University of Thailand and two teams from the National University of Singapore.
UPD said the group will proceed to the Grand Finals to be held in July in Dubai and will compete against other regional winners from Europe, India and the Middle East.
The IMA Asia-Pacific Student Case Competition aims to help students develop and strengthen their financial and accounting skills.
The competition focuses on topical accounting and finance problems which encourage students to apply their technical and theoretical skills in a practical setting.
