LAW students from the University of the Philippines were among the semifinalists in the 27th Stetson Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition International Finals.

The UP Law Stetson Team was composed of Ignacio Lorenzo Villareal, Joannah Angellie Vazquez, Isabella Angeline Blanco, Toni Mae Sy and Pauline de Leon.

Villareal got the 2nd Best Oralist Award while Sy was awarded the 3rd Best Oralist Award in the preliminary rounds.

The group competed against 18 schools from 14 countries, including Colombia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

They were mentored by Professor Rommel Casis and former Stetson participants Michiko Lokin and Bob Ecarma.

The Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition focuses on important global environmental challenges and is the most prestigious international environmental moot court competition in the world.

The event was hosted by the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.
