LAW students of the University of the Philippines were among the semifinalists in the 21st John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition.

The UP Law Jackson Team was composed of Jet Ryan Nicolas, Maxine Mikaela Capili, Caleb Catalan and Samantha Pauline Villanueva.

Nicolas received the Best Orator in the Quarterfinals award.

They were mentored by Matthew Dayday and Marian Arcinas, who served as their coaches, and Professor Rommel Casis, their faculty adviser.

This year, the competition featured 73 teams from around the world. The groups competed in regional rounds before the top 24 teams qualified for the Final Oral Rounds held in Geneva from June 13 to 17, 2023.

The 21st John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition simulates the hearing of the World Trade Organization dispute settlement system.
