LAW students of the University of the Philippines were the champions in the 40th Jean-Pictet Competition on International Humanitarian Law.

The UP Law Pictet team was composed of Mika Ramirez, Luis Manlangit, and Bob Ecarma.

The team made history for being one of three teams in the 40-year history of the competition to win back-to-back championships.

Manlangit was also a nominee for the Gilbert Apollis Award.

The competition was held from February 25 to March 3, 2023 in Durrës, Albania. It featured 44 teams from across the globe.

The Jean-Pictet competition challenges students to participate in simulations and role plays centered around a hypothetical armed conflict, delving into complex issues in International Humanitarian Law.
