THE UNIVERSITY of Makati decried the alteration of the academic status of some students online as it concludes its 49th Commencement Exercises.

The school said that it received reports of such cases, and called on the public to be vigilant against false information shared on social media.

“We have received reports of individuals sharing and maliciously altering our social media card announcements and posts to reflect their unverified and incorrect academic status as graduates with honors,” UMak said in an announcement.

“Please be informed that the University does not, and will not release any social media cards indicating the list of graduates with honors on any of its social media platforms,” it added.

The list of graduates and their awards and honors can be accessed through the University Registrar through [email protected].
