UE SENIOR HIGH STUDENT BAGS AY FOUNDATION NATIONAL DISCIPLINE AWARD

A SENIOR high school student from the University of the East-Caloocan won the Alfonso Yuchengco Foundation National Discipline Award 2021 recently.

Rogene Graciella R. Sadian, a 12th-grader student of Accountancy and Business Management strand, was recognized for consistently exemplifying the virtue of discipline in school and in the community.

“As UE SHS student, Miss Sadian won 1st place in two different contests of the UE Basic Education Department-Caloocan, namely the 2019 Elevator Pitch Competition, and in the Inclusive, Innovative, Interconnected Storytelling Competition,” the school said.

“Miss Sadian was one of the ten who passed the first level of screening for the (National Discipline Award) 2021 batch. The ten selected nominees then underwent a more rigorous screening process, wherein three nominees were selected. Among the Top 3 finalists, Miss Sadian was recognized for her discipline, and was chosen to receive the award,” it added.

Sadian received a medal and a cash prize aside from the award.

The Foundation was named after the late former Ambassador Alfonso Yuchengco, and began conferring its National Discipline Award to deserving high school students in the 1990s.

Since its inception, the AY Foundation National Discipline Award has been conferred to 13,000 students of 1,200 high schools from around the country.
