UE OFFERS FITNESS AND SPORTS MANAGEMENT DEGREE
THE UNIVERSITY of the East now offers a degree program specializing in fitness and sports management.
The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences major in Fitness and Sports Management (BSESS-FSM), offered by the UE College of Education in Manila, aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive as leaders and innovators in the sports and wellness industries.
“With the growing demand for qualified experts in sports and fitness, this program ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to make meaningful contributions to personal well-being, community development, and excellence,” said UE College of Education Dean Eva Aurora Callueng.
The four-year curriculum includes subjects on fitness and sports management, anatomy, human movement, physiology, aerobics, and resistance training, and culminates in an internship at relevant institutions.
While enrolled in the program, students may apply their classroom learning as qualified member-athletes of UE’s Red Warriors sports teams.
Graduates of the program may pursue careers as athletic or conditioning coaches, sports scientists or analysts, game coordinators, team-building facilitators, sports tourism officers, wellness facility managers or owners, and athletic instructors, among others.
UE is a member of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the country’s oldest and premier collegiate sports league.
Other degree offerings of the UE College of Education include programs in elementary, special needs, secondary, and physical education, as well as nutrition and dietetics. It also offers certificate and diploma courses in professional, early childhood, and special needs education, and fitness and sports coaching.
As part of its 76th anniversary celebration, the college will award a one-time P7,600 financial grant each to 10 qualified first-year students who enroll in any of its degree programs starting May 5. For inquiries, email [email protected].
Founded in 1946, UE is a private academic institution that once held the record for the largest student enrollment in Asia.
