UE ALLOWS TWO-DAY ACADEMIC BREAK
THE UNIVERSITY of the East has finally granted the request of the students to implement a two-day academic break after examination week.
In a Facebook post, the Central Student Council said that UE President Ester Garcia allowed the break on April 8 and 12.
“The letter request was after UE recently released the schedules of the Midterm Examination dated April 4-7,” CSC said.
“Pres. Garcia added that no schedule of asynchronous session after the Midterm Examinations is specified for Saturday classes considering that Aprils 9 and 16 are holidays,” it added.
Earlier, Garcia permitted one-day asynchronous session after the preliminary and midterm examinations. She said that the school will no longer grant academic breaks for the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022 because of the one-week delay in the opening of classes.
She explained that a 3-unit course will need at least 51 hours in accordance with the mandate of the Commission on Higher Education.
