TIP SHS STUDENTS RECEIVE GRANT FROM DOST
SENIOR High School students from the Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila received a grant from the Department of Science and Technology for their “BioHoshi” project.
Will Andrew Mercado, Rayvhen Domonique Rada, Mary Nicole Alejandrino and Paulo Luis Bautista presented the project at the DOST’s 5th Young Innovators Program Forum.
The students were mentored by Ellaysa Espalgo and Dr. Glorielyn Camerino.
BioHoshi aims to make environment-safe disposable cutlery and utensils using an organism called mycelium.
“This project will surely make a great impact on the waste problem the country experiences as BioHoshi products could theoretically replace single-use utensils currently in the market,” the university said.
