SILLIMAN U STUDENTS TO JOIN SERVICE-LEARNING PROJECT IN JAPAN
TWO students of Silliman University will join an immersive four-week service-learning project with local community partners in Japan in July 2023.
Micah Saycon, a second-year Education student, and Claire Tenaja, a third-year Nursing student, will attend the Japan Summer Service-Learning Program to be hosted by the International Christian University.
They will join participants from Middlebury College (USA), Union Christian College (Kochi, India), and Lady Doak College (Madurai, India).
The two students were chosen by the selection committee composed of Asst. Prof. Emervencia Ligutom, SU registrar and Civic Welfare Training Service coordinator Dr. Giovanni Macahig, and Student Organizations and Activities Division head Abe Cadeliña.
Last year, Beatriz Ellen Gantela and Isabel Torres represented the SU in the learning program.
However, it was conducted online because of the Covid19 pandemic.
