THE SILLIMAN University hosted Harvard University students who are members of the Harvard Philippine Forum.
They joined students from schools in the Negros Island, Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor in discussions about youth leadership earlier this week.
“The Harvard Philippine Forum is a community of Filipinos, Filipino-Americans, and friends that celebrates Philippine culture and tradition with the Harvard community,” it said.
“The Harvard University students visited SU as part of the Harvard Philippine Forum’s annual service and culture trip to the Philippines,” it added.
This year, the event had the theme, “Igniting Transformative Leadership Across Seas.”
The Harvard University students exchanged stories and experiences on leadership with the student attendees in a gathering at the SU Hall.
They also talked about opportunities for STEM and social science students, research and professional opportunities, and extracurricular and social experiences at Harvard University for those who are interested in studying in the United States.
“Guest speaker Rochelle Miguel, EducationUSA adviser, also talked about how students in the Philippines can apply to study in the United States,” SU said.
