PLM STUDENT LEADERS TAKE OATH

/ 22 February 2021

THE NEW set of leaders of student councils  at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila took their oath of office before President Emmanuel Leyco on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Leyco gave assurances that the university will uphold the rights and welfare of the students.

He also vowed to include students in the decision-making process on issues that affect learners.

“Makakaasa kayo na ang PLM kasama ng mga mag-aaral, ng mga guro, at pamunuan ay magtataguyod ng ating kalayaang akademiko,” he said.

“We will hold a student management conference. We will make sure to include student representatives in all decision-making bodies within the University on matters that will affect the student body,” he added.

Last year, the PLM convened the Online Education Committee to discuss the issues and concerns raised by students, faculty, and administrative staff about the conduct of distance learning classes.

New SSC President Edwin Karl Basa pledged to work with the university in defending academic freedom and in ensuring a safe return to face-to-face classes.

“Hindi kami titigil hangga’t hindi nasisiguro ang maayos na kapakanan ng mga mag-aaral at ng buong Pamantasan,” Basa said.
