PANGASINAN STATE U INKS PARTNERSHIP DEAL WITH DAR
TO help farmers gain access to better seeds, the Pangasinan State University signed a partnership agreement with the Department of Agrarian Reform and the Infanta Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Farmers Association, Inc.
A memorandum of agreement was signed by key officials of PSU and DAR last week.
The collaboration aims to provide farmers access to quality seeds and seedlings and ensure the production of improved crop varieties and quality of plant materials.
PSU said the initiative will be done through the establishment and efficient implementation of the enterprise-based crop nurseries with greenhouse facilities and tissue culture laboratory.
“As stated in the MOA, the University will supervise the establishment of the crop nursery, greenhouse facility, and tissue culture laboratory to support Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program of the national agency,” the school said.
“The PSU-DAR partnership is another testament to the enduring support of Pangasinan’s pride, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III to the students and families of farmer-beneficiaries in the province,” it added.
