PALAWAN STATE U STUDENTS WIN IN PETROBOWL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
FIVE students from the Palawan State University placed third in the Asia-Pacific Petrobowl Regional Qualifiers held last July 10-11, 2021.
The students are Prince Belandres Panes, Joshua Manginsay Guzman, Gwen Arianne Santillan Recoco, Mary Antonette Macariola, and Faye Molina.
Panes is a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology.
The team was coached by Engr. Jared Ignacio, a faculty of the school’s Petroleum Engineering Department.
Students from 32 universities in the Asia-Pacific region participated in the event.
The PSU was the only university to represent the Philippines in the event. The Petrobowl World Championship 2021 will be held later this year with regional qualifiers from Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and Caribbean, Middle East, and North America.
The Petrobowl competition is held annually, allowing students from universities offering BS Petroleum Engineering to compete against each other.
