MSU-IIT STUDENTS WIN AWARDS IN HACKFORGOV 2024 COMPETITION
THE MINDANAO State University-Iligan Institute of Technology once again demonstrated its talent in the field of cybersecurity after securing several awards in the recently concluded HackForGov 2024 competition.
Team “doraTheExploiters,” composed of Oliver Rhyme Añasco, Kenan Cinches, Ryan Edquila, and Keane Kiechel Tumanda, made an impressive debut by securing 1s place in the competition.
Tumanda stood out further by achieving the highest individual score, earning him the chance to represent the university on the national stage.
Another MSU-IIT team, “Carlo++,” which included Carlo Arellano, Elizer Dolorosa, Sean Benson, Vince Loable, and coach Orven Llantos, finished in 7th place out of 13 teams.
“Team IO,” consisting of Mark Andrey Acebu, Thaddeus Rosales, Tristan Jadman, and Leon Diehl Cayabyab, also demonstrated their skills by securing 9th place.
Themed “Today’s Generation, Tomorrow’s Champion: Shaping the Future of Cybersecurity through Shared Responsibility,” the competition provided an immersive experience through a Capture the Flag competition, challenging participants with real-world cybersecurity problems.
The event underscored the importance of collaboration, ethical practices, and shared responsibility in tackling cyber threats.
