MSU-IIT STUDENT REPRESENTS PH IN LEADERSHIP FORUM 2025

/ 30 January 2025

A GRADUATING BS Philosophy student from Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology represented both the university and the Philippines at the Leadership Forum 2025.

Alsadjaik Sabdul engaged in discussions on ethical leadership, sustainability, conflict resolution strategies, green finance, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in governance. His participation provided an opportunity to collaborate with global leaders and experts while exploring how these insights could be applied to local and regional challenges.

“As a graduating student, I was inspired by their motivation to pursue and learn more. Some speakers at the forum earned their PhDs in their 30s, despite facing significant life challenges. If they can do it, maybe I can too,” Sabdul said.

Sabdul, also named the Armed Forces of the Philippines ROTC Male Cadet of 2023, exemplified leadership and dedication, which contributed to his selection for the forum.

The event, organized by EduTourism for Unity, a UK-based organization that connects young leaders worldwide, took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from January 6 to 9, 2025. It focused on developing leadership skills, advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting global peace, diversity, and unity.

As part of the event, Muslim participants, including Sabdul, performed Umrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and had the opportunity to join a week-long fellowship at the UK head office, with a chance to represent their country at the United Nations.
