DR. CESAR Demayo, a retired professor from the College of Science and Mathematics at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), has been conferred the title of Professor Emeritus.

The title, approved during the 269th MSU Board of Regents meeting last year, recognizes Demayo’s exceptional contributions to scientific research, academic mentorship, and leadership.

Over his 35-year career at MSU-IIT, Demayo made significant advancements in genetics and entomology while leading initiatives that strengthened the institution’s academic and research programs.

In his acceptance speech, Demayo expressed gratitude for the honor, humorously reflecting on his journey and committing to continue supporting the University’s mission.

Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan highlighted the privileges of the Professor Emeritus title, which allows Demayo to remain active in teaching, research, and academic pursuits.

The conferment ceremony was attended by Ditucalan, university officials, the College of Science and Mathematics dean, department chairs, faculty members, and students.
