MMSU LAW STUDENT WINS IN PAGCOR’S PHOTOGRAPHY TILT
A LAW student from the Mariano Marcos State University won in a photography competition sponsored by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
Aljon Tugaoen was among the grand winners under the conventional category for his entry “Over and Under the Rocks of Pangil.”
Of the 5,407 entries, his photo was one of the 24 regional finalists, and was the sole entry from Region 1 to secure a spot in the final selection.
Tugaoen’s photo featured a golden hour silhouette presentation of Pangil rock formation in Currimao, Ilocos Norte.
It is now part of an exhibit at the National Museum of National History.
“Winning is not only gratifying, but, also, somehow, brings a sense of validation for a photographer’s creative vision,” MMSU quoted Tugaoen as saying.
“I am always enthusiastic about conveying the beauty of Ilocos Norte through photography and filmmaking,” he added.
The PAGCOR Photography Contest is a nationwide photography competition for amateur and professional photographers.
It provides a medium for lensmen across the country to showcase their photography skills and creativity while capturing images that underscore the Philippines’ beauty and the Filipinos’ diverse culture.
