/ 8 October 2020

THE LYCEUM of the Philippines University-Manila shared some tips to its students to make online learning fun and effective.

In a Facebook post, the school shared several study tips, dos and don’ts to pass the subject, proper netiquette, and class suspension guidelines.

Students were advised to set up their online learning needs ahead of time, wear comfortable but appropriate clothes, eat properly, maintain a neat study area that is free from distractions, and take notes during video conferencing for a better learning experience.

The school urged students to interact with their peers during webinars, do their share of the project, cite their sources properly and avoid plagiarism, submit their requirements early and follow the 3rs: read, review, and revise their work.

It also shared several netiquettes: give space for others, be polite, use proper capitalizations to avoid confusion, appreciate the work of others, and respect other’s social media accounts.

On class suspension, the school said that it will follow the local government’s policy but students who wish to continue with their asynchronous activities are free to do so.

The school also asked students to consider their teachers’ situation and not hound them with their queries especially during calamities.

LPU classes started on September 14, 2020, using flexible learning.
