LPU WARNS STUDENTS AGAINST ONLINE SCAMS
THE LYCEUM of the Philippines University-Manila Data Privacy Office warned its students against online scams.
The school cautioned students against accounts or posts that falsely represent health organizations, websites selling fraudulent products, fake non-profit donation requests, and fraudulent financial offers for Covid19 donations.
It strongly urged students to protect their data from online scams.
“Now that everyone is spending most of their time online, let us prioritize in protecting our data from online scams,” the university said on Facebook.
The LPU earlier issued a cybersecurity advisory following reports of fake accounts on social media.
It advised students to utilize Facebook’s two-step authentication program to secure their accounts against scammers.
