ILIGAN CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ASSURED OF FREE NET, CABLE
THE DEPARTMENT of Education’s Schools Division of Iligan City, Iligan Light and Power, Inc. and Southern Cable Vision, Inc. recently signed an agreement which aims to provide free internet connectivity and cable channel for public schools this coming school year.
“We are making ourselves available so that education can continue,” said ILPI and SCVI President Ralph Casiño.
Under the agreement, at least 15 public schools of the city division will be given free internet connection.
These public schools will adopt online distance learning using self-educating modules.
The DepEd Channel can also be used for free from ILPI and SCVI, which according to the management of DepEd-Iligan City, will be a big help in delivering educational materials.
“Education is everybody’s concern and this program is a concrete manifestation of it,” said Schools Division Superintendent Roy Angelo Gazo.
The agreement is part of the program of ILPI and SCVI for public schools which is “Internet Connectivity: Programang Paglaum sa Edukasyon, Kahayag sa Kaugmaon”, and is in line with DepEd’s Adopt-a-School Program.
