IFUGAO STATE U OPENS RICE CULTURAL MUSEUM
THE Ifugao State University has launched its Rice Cultural Museum, to showcase its diverse collection of cultural artifacts and heritage of the Ifugao people.
Aside from Ifugao artifacts, the museum also gives a platform for local artists to showcase their weaves, which visitors can wear as a representation of Ifugao culture.
IFSU Museum-in-Charge, Edna K. Butticon, said that this initiative highlights cultural preservation, to strengthen its “community’s sense of belonging.”
“Beyond showcasing traditional Ifugao artifacts, the Open House features culturally-inspired crafts for sale. This provides a platform for local artisans to showcase their talents and offers visitors a unique opportunity to take home or wear a piece of Ifugao culture,” IFSU said on Facebook.
“Also, the Open House echoes the spirit of National Arts Month as it portrays vibrant art and culture which are foundations of thriving and sustainable communities. Everyone is invited to explore the museum and deepen their understanding of Ifugao culture,” it added.
The museum is open until February 8, 2024, which is open for students, employees, and visitors.
