CENTRAL PHILIPPINE U GETS LAND DONATION
THE CENTRAL Philippine University has received a parcel of land donated by the Asian Christian Outreach, Inc. and Fortress College, Inc.
ASCO and Fortress College, Inc. President Grace Tingson-Hughes and Board of Trustees Chairman Renecito Novero signed a Memorandum of Agreement with CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles to seal the partnership.
The donation was made in recognition of CPU’s Christian vision and mission.
Fortress College will donate other properties, vehicles, equipment and facilities to CPU to ensure the continuance of the vision and mission of the late Rev. Dr. Gregorio “Greg” Tingson who founded the ASCO and Fortress College.
In 1981, Tingson began offering fairly priced academic, technical, and vocational training based on Christian principles in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Robles gave assurances that CPU will continue the legacy of Tingson.
“We will keep whatever was started by Dr. Tingson and make sure it continues to flourish and serve the community according to what it was planned for,” he said.
CPU said that the new partnership will open a lot of opportunities for CPU to expand its reach beyond the province and city of Iloilo.
