AROUND 42 nursing students of Biliran Province State University were deployed as vaccinators during the province-wide Covid19 vaccination drive.

The students under the School of Nursing and Health Sciences of the university were accompanied by 10 faculty members and five medical-dental clinic staffers.

They were deployed in the eight municipalities of the province in accordance with the rapid vaccination drive of the government earlier this month.

University physician, Dr. Ana Maria M. Jaguros said the deployment of students is in response to the call of the health sector for more volunteers.

Jaguros added the students were screened by a committee.

The Commission on Higher Education has allowed the deployment of nursing students in vaccination centers under the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-003 with the Department of Health last month.
