BICOL University has partnered with the Department of Education to launch a collaborative project focused on Food, Research, Education, Skills, Hygiene, Innovations, and Capacity Building.

A memorandum of agreement was signed last month to begin the Cleanliness and Health Education Campaign for Kids (CHECK).

“We strongly support the goals of this partnership and are committed to ensuring all deliverables are met,” said BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III.

The CHECK initiative aims to promote proper hygiene practices among children in selected DepEd SDO Legazpi schools. Bicol University will lead the campaign by mobilizing volunteers for hygiene education sessions and overseeing its implementation.

The College of Industrial Technology and the Bicol Regional Food Innovation and Commercialization Center will provide technical expertise through the Philippine Association of Food Technologists – XI Chapter.

DepEd SDO Legazpi officials, including Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Danilo Despi and Assistant Superintendent Lauro Millano, joined BU representatives at the MOA signing ceremony.
