2 PLM STUDENTS APPOINTED AS JUDGES
TWO lawyers currently enrolled at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s Graduate School of Law were among the newest appointees in the Judiciary.
Peter Kate Maningas was appointed as Municipal Trial Court judge in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
He is a former Graft Investigation and Prosecution Officer at the Office of the Ombudsman for Luzon.
Meanwhile, Esmeralda Valerio-Morada was appointed as judge for the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2 of Angeles City in Pampanga.
Valerio-Morada previously worked as a public prosecutor in the National Prosecution Service.
“Congratulations to our newest judges! May your PLM education fortify your sense of integrity and justice as you rule on cases that land in your courts,” University President Emmanuel Leyco said.
The Supreme Court recently made public the appointment of 21 new judges in Central Luzon.
Appointment to the courts involves a two-step process. First, an applicant must make it to the shortlist of the Judicial and Bar Council which is then forwarded to Malacañang for the president to make the final choice.
