/ 22 July 2026

SENATOR Mark Villar has once again recognized outstanding graduating college students from several higher education institutions across the country through the Mark Villar Leadership Awards, honoring young Filipinos who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, integrity, and community service.

This year’s awardees came from Cebu Technological University–Main Campus, Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, Laguna State Polytechnic University’s Los Baños, San Pablo City, Siniloan, and Sta. Cruz campuses, Southern Luzon State University, and Tanauan City College.

Villar said the awards recognize student leaders who have not only excelled academically but have also shown the character, discipline, and commitment needed to become future nation-builders.

He congratulated the recipients for their hard work and perseverance, saying the recognition reflects their dedication despite the challenges they encountered. Villar also acknowledged the unwavering support of parents, families, teachers, and mentors who helped shape the students’ success.

As the graduates begin a new chapter in their lives, the senator encouraged them to uphold the values, skills, and lessons they gained in school and become responsible, competent, and humble citizens.

He urged the awardees to continue striving for excellence, serve their communities, and use their talents to help advance the country’s development.

Villar likewise reaffirmed his commitment to promoting measures that expand access to quality education and create more opportunities for Filipino students.

Among the initiatives he continues to champion are the proposed Gadget Subsidy and Internet Aid Act and the Student Guidance Counseling Act, which aim to improve students’ access to educational resources and strengthen campus guidance and support services.

The senator emphasized that education remains one of the country’s most valuable investments, saying it is essential to helping more young Filipinos achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.

Concluding his message, Villar challenged the recipients to make a positive impact beyond the classroom by serving as role models of leadership, integrity, and compassion.

He encouraged them to continue making their mark in their communities and in the nation as they embark on their professional and personal journeys.
