/ 30 May 2026

SENATOR Mark Villar once again recognized outstanding college graduates from various higher education institutions for their excellence in leadership, academics, and community service.

Among those honored this year under the Mark Villar Leadership Awards were graduating student leaders from Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University, Cebu Normal University, and Marinduque State University.

Villar emphasized the important role of graduates in nation-building, saying their achievements reflect not only academic excellence but also resilience, discipline, and determination in overcoming challenges throughout their educational journey.

“We are pleased that despite the trials and sacrifices you went through, you successfully reached this important milestone in your lives. Your hard work, perseverance, dedication, and commitment are truly admirable and serve as an inspiration to fellow Filipino youth,” Villar said.

The senator also encouraged the graduates to carry with them the lessons, values, and experiences they gained from their universities as they pursue their chosen professions and aspirations.

He stressed the need for hardworking, intelligent, and responsible young Filipinos who are prepared to face the challenges brought about by rapid globalization and societal change.

“As you move forward to the next chapter of your lives, I hope that you continue to use your knowledge, skills, and talents not only for your own success, but also in service of your communities and fellow Filipinos. Your generation can contribute greatly in shaping a stronger and more progressive nation,” he added.

Villar likewise recognized the significant role played by parents, professors, mentors, and loved ones in guiding students throughout their academic journey and helping mold them into responsible and productive citizens.

“Congratulations to the graduates and student leaders of Batch 2026, together with your proud parents, professors, and mentors. May you make a mark through your leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving the Filipino people. I wish all of you success in your future endeavors,” Villar said.
