MANILA LGU RELEASES P62.5M SUBSIDY TO PLM
THE CITY Government of Manila has released a P62.5 million subsidy to the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) for the first quarter of 2026, reinforcing its continued support for accessible and quality public higher education.
Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso personally handed over the check to PLM President Domingo “Sonny” Reyes Jr. during a simple turnover ceremony held at the Mayor’s Office.
City officials said the financial assistance will help fund the university’s operational needs, including academic programs, student services, and ongoing institutional development initiatives.
Moreno underscored that education remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that investing in students is essential to the city’s long-term progress and inclusive growth.
The subsidy forms part of the local government’s continuing efforts to ensure that higher education remains affordable and accessible to Manileño youth.
