LGU AWARDS P1-M TO UCC’S NEW LAWYERS
CALOOCAN City Mayor Dale Gonzalo ‘Along’ Malapitan awarded a total of P1 million in cash incentives to the 16 new lawyers produced by the University of Caloocan City–College of Law (UCC-COL), following their success in the 2025 Bar Examinations.
The incentives were presented during a Testimonial Ceremony held on February 11 at the Bulwagang Katipunan, Caloocan City Hall–South.
In his message, Malapitan congratulated the new members of the legal profession and thanked them for bringing honor to the city.
“Congratulations, and thank you for the honor you have given our city. You are all proof of the hard work, intelligence, and determination of Batang Kankaloo,” the mayor said.
He also urged the new lawyers to use their legal education in service of the public.
“Now that you are full-fledged attorneys, may you carry with you the lessons you learned from UCC in fighting for the rights of our people. Serve with excellence, integrity, and above all, compassion for others,” he added.
The mayor likewise commended UCC-College of Law for achieving a 72.73 percent passing rate in the 2025 Bar Examinations — significantly higher than the national passing rate of 48.98 percent.
“We also congratulate UCC-College of Law for continuously guiding and molding our students to become excellent lawyers. Please continue delivering quality education to our learners,” Malapitan said.
The city government said the incentives are part of its continuing support for academic excellence and its commitment to strengthening the local education sector.
