CHED WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST FAKE SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS
THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has warned the public against several unofficial Facebook accounts falsely claiming to represent the agency and promoting non-existent scholarship and financial assistance programs.
According to CHED, these fraudulent pages are illegally using the agency’s name and official logo to mislead students and the public.
“These fraudulent accounts illegally use CHED’s name and logo while promoting unauthorized application and registration links,” the agency said.
CHED also urged individuals who encounter suspicious posts, links, or accounts claiming to be affiliated with the commission to immediately report them to the nearest CHED Regional Office or Regional Coordinator for proper action.
“Protect your personal and sensitive information. Always verify the source of any news or announcements before sharing your details. Scammers are everywhere—stay vigilant,” CHED warned.
