MSU-IIT, CISTEM SEAL PARTNERSHIP TO STRENGTHEN STEM EDUCATION IN MINDANAO

/ 18 January 2026

MINDANAO State University–Iligan Institute of Technology has formalized a two-year partnership with CISTEM Inc. to enhance STEM education through joint teacher professional development initiatives.

The memorandum of agreement was signed earlier this month by MSU-IIT’s College of Science and Mathematics and College of Education, in collaboration with the non-profit organization CISTEM.

Under the agreement, MSU-IIT will provide faculty experts and researchers, host training activities and programs, and take part in the monitoring and evaluation of learning outcomes.

The signing ceremony was attended by university officials led by Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, along with vice chancellors, college administrators, and CISTEM Director Melvin Magsayo.

The partnership builds on earlier collaborations in 2025, including the Teacher Advancement Program for Science and Mathematics and a Small-Scale Green Chemistry Education Workshop.

University leaders said the collaboration reinforces MSU-IIT’s role in advancing innovative STEM pedagogy and in building teacher capacity across Mindanao.
