USTP PARTNERS WITH INDONESIAN UNIVERSITY

/ 4 October 2025

THE UNIVERSITY of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines  has formalized a partnership with Universitas Multi Data Palembang of Indonesia through a Memorandum of Agreement signed last month.

The collaboration, involving USTP Panaon’s Information Technology Department, seeks to create a globally competitive learning environment through joint teaching, research, and knowledge exchange.

UMDP Rector Dr. Yulistia expressed enthusiasm over the immediate rollout of activities, noting that she will personally deliver the first lecture under the partnership to enhance learning opportunities for students from both institutions.

USTP Panaon Acting Campus Director Dr. Leny Q. Añasco described the MOA as both a formal commitment and a celebration of shared vision, highlighting the two universities’ common mission to advance higher education through international partnerships.

As an initial activity, a joint webinar titled “Navigating the Digital Frontier” will be held on October 17, featuring lectures on artificial intelligence by Dr. Yulistia and on cybersecurity practices by USTP’s Janepol G. Ballard.

University officials said the agreement underscores a shared commitment “to academic excellence and internationalization, preparing students from both institutions to become innovators and leaders in the global digital economy.”
