SENATE Minority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III announced that he has donated his first two months’ salary to provide financial assistance to students in need, fulfilling a campaign promise.

Sotto said the initiative aims to help struggling students continue their studies through scholarships and other forms of educational support.

“As I promised during the campaign, I will give my first two months’ salary to those in need of financial assistance, particularly in the field of education — to help students who are struggling in life,” Sotto said in a statement.

According to him, his office is currently processing applications from students who have requested aid. So far, the list includes one approved scholar, five students awaiting screening or interview, and 12 applicants completing requirements.

Sotto thanked the public for their support and encouraged more students to apply through his office.
