DOH-NCR LAUNCHES ‘BAKUNA ESKWELA’
THE DEPARTMENT of Health–National Capital Region (DOH-NCR) has launched Bakuna Eskwela, a program aimed at boosting vaccination rates among school-aged children in Metro Manila.
DOH–Metro Manila Center for Health Development Regional Director Dr. Lester Tan emphasized that immunization is crucial in protecting children from preventable diseases and ensuring their overall well-being.
He said the initiative reflects the strong partnership between the DOH and local government units in delivering timely and accessible vaccination services to learners.
The rollout benefited hundreds of students from Manila, Pasay, and Las Piñas, who received both health education and vaccines against measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and human papillomavirus.
DOH-MMCHD urged parents to take advantage of the free vaccines available in schools and health centers, stressing that immunization remains one of the most effective ways to safeguard children’s health in the region.
