LAWMAKER FILES BILLS FOR TEACHERS, STUDENTS, AND OTHER SECTORS

/ 18 July 2025

SENATOR JV Ejercito has filed a new set of bills in the second round of filing in the 20th Congress, focusing on key sectors such as education, labor, agriculture, and national defense.

Among his proposed measures is a salary increase for public school teachers and discounts on internet and telecommunications services for students.

Under the Dagdag Sweldo Para sa mga Guro Act, Ejercito proposes a ₱10,000 across-the-board salary hike for public school teachers.

“As they say, teaching is not just a profession—it is a vocation. Our teachers go above and beyond, often spending their own money on classroom materials. It’s time the government gives them the support and compensation they deserve. They are our modern-day heroes,” Ejercito said.

To support students and their families, Ejercito is also pushing the Student Load Discount Privilege Act, which mandates a 20 percent discount on internet and telecommunications services—including mobile load, calls, and texts—for students.
