UE MANILA LAUNCHES MED TECH DEGREE PROGRAM WITH TUITION DISCOUNT
THE UNIVERSITY of the East is now welcoming aspiring medical technologists with the launch of its Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science (BSMT/MLS) program at its Manila campus.
Offered under the College of Arts and Sciences, the new degree program will begin freshman classes in the first semester of school year 2025–2026 this July.
Pioneering BSMT/MLS enrollees will enjoy a P10,000 tuition and school fees discount for the first semester.
A four-year program combining general education and professional courses, BSMT/MLS aims to produce health care professionals capable of performing clinical laboratory procedures necessary for proper diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and disease prevention. The curriculum also fosters critical thinking, research skills, and community engagement.
Before graduation, students will complete laboratory internships with rotational duties in areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunohematology (blood banking), and emerging technologies.
Career options for graduates include roles as licensed medical technologists/medical laboratory scientists, diagnostic molecular scientists, research scientists, educators, diagnostic product specialists, public health practitioners, and healthcare leaders.
This marks UE Manila’s second pre-medicine degree offering, following its Bachelor of Science in Biology with two tracks: Medical Biology and Ecology and Biodiversity.
