7 FRIENDS RESCUED EARN DIPLOMAS THROUGH ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM

/ 7 July 2025

IN A MOMENTOUS celebration of transformation and hope, seven Friends Rescued (FRs) successfully completed their Basic Education through the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System (ALS) during the 12th ALS Graduation and Completion Ceremony held on July 4, 2025, at the Cabadbaran City Gym in Agusan del Norte.

This milestone is a powerful testament to the government’s commitment to reintegration and inclusive education for former rebels under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

Through the partnership of the DepEd Division of Cabadbaran City, Local Government Units, and the 29th Infantry “Matatag” Battalion, these individuals were given a second chance to rebuild their lives, pursue their dreams, and contribute positively to society.

Among the graduates, three were honored as ALS Best Learners for their outstanding performance and dedication. Their inspiring stories of perseverance and transformation uplift not only their fellow FRs but also the entire community.

To mark the occasion, troops of the 29IB, with the support of Hon. Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante, Governor of Agusan del Norte, hosted a celebratory boodle fight for the graduates.

LtCol Mark S. Tabon, Commanding Officer of the 29th Infantry Battalion, congratulated the graduates and underscored the power of education in shaping their future:

Congratulations.”
