DEPED-CAR, DENR-CAR SIGN MOA TO RESOLVE SCHOOL SITE ISSUE
THE DEPARTMENT of Education–Cordillera Administrative Region (DepEd-CAR) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–CAR (DENR-CAR) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to address a long-standing school site concern.
The agreement was signed on Friday at the NEAPR Hall in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.
According to DepEd-CAR, the MOA affirms a previous agreement between the former superintendent of the Benguet School of Arts and Trade and the then regional executive director of DENR-CAR, which allocated a 1,430-square meter area to DENR-CAR for the construction of the Mt. Pulag Protected Area Management Office (PAMO).
Under the new MOA, DENR-CAR will retain possession of 1,106 square meters for the Mt. Pulag PAMO, while DepEd-CAR will retain 9,332 square meters for Ambangeg National High School.
“This MOA is part of a broader initiative to resolve school site concerns in the Cordillera region, aiming to provide students with secure, accessible, and improved learning environments through inter-agency cooperation,” DepEd-CAR said in a statement.
