PUP PARTNERS WITH KPMG R.G. MANABAT & CO.
THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines has partnered with leading accounting firm KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. to strengthen its academic programs through industry collaboration.
A memorandum of understanding was signed last month as part of KPMG PH’s Industry to Classroom Learning Link initiative.
Under the agreement, KPMG RGM & Co. will implement projects such as scholarships for CAF students and lectures on Accounting and Auditing, including Specialized Industries and other key topics.
The partnership also includes sessions for professors, faculty immersion programs in accountancy and audit, and discussions on Governance, ESG, and Cybersecurity.
Additional initiatives involve Academic and Leadership Awards for graduating students, sponsorship for the refurbishment of a multi-purpose room in CAF, and participation in the Government, Industry, and Academe Board for curriculum and syllabus revisions.
KPMG RGM & Co. Chairman and CEO Sharon G. Dayoan reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates, noting that over 100 Iskolar ng Bayan alumni are currently employed at KPMG.
PUP President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi expressed his gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing its role in aligning the university’s curriculum with industry standards.
“This partnership strengthens the academe-industry connection. We aim to fine-tune and adjust our curriculum to better prepare our students for the workforce,” Muhi said.
Dr. Julieta G. Fonte, Dean of the College of Accountancy and Finance, highlighted that the collaboration will enrich students’ learning experiences and enhance PUP’s academic programs.
