THE DEPARTMENT of Information Science and Technology at the University of Asia and the Pacific has been recognized with the Gawad Ka-Brigada ng Bulacan 2024 for its outstanding support as a partner institution to the Department of Education Bulacan.

The prestigious award acknowledges IST’s dedication to strengthening educational initiatives and fostering valuable collaborations in the region.

Cyrus Paolo Buenafe, IST chair, accepted the award on behalf of the department and other education partners from the Schools Division Office of Bulacan. He emphasized the vital role of partnerships in creating an innovative and supportive learning environment for students and educators.

In addition to the department’s recognition, Buenafe was also honored by the Virginia Ramirez-Cruz National High School for his contributions to their educational programs.

The award ceremony took place in Bustos, Bulacan, last month under the theme “Strengthening External Support in Education: Establishing a MATATAG Foundation for Well-being and Academic Achievement.”

The event brought together internal and external stakeholders to address key issues in basic education and explore collaborative solutions for advancing academic excellence in the region.
