STUDENTS of the De La Salle University Dasmariñas emerged victorious in two separate local competitions.

Mechanical Engineering students, led by Isshi Buhay, secured first place in the 2nd STAARRDEC Pitching Competition last month.

Dubbed “KopiMasin,” the project is a 4-in-1 coffee machine designed to make coffee-making more efficient and economical.

It outperformed entries from other schools, including DLSU Laguna and Cavite State University.

The team received a P10,000 cash prize, and the patentable qualities of “KopiMasin” are currently under filing at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, a team of Economics students bagged second runner-up honors in the LSEG Excelsior, an inter-university research competition organized by the London Stock Exchange Group-Philippines.

Team Equilibrium Mixers was composed of Ghaylle Dumalag, Omar El-Asmar, John Carl Louise Yusongco, Marcellus Rivadenera, and Jordan Lugay.

They were guided by coaches Renz Mascardo and Romano Angelico Ebron.

“This accomplishment aligns with our theme of unlocking economic potential and showcases the remarkable talents of our students,” DLSU-D Economics and Marketing Professor Michael Del Rosario said.
