SENATOR SUPPORTS YOUTH PROGRAMS

/ 17 November 2024

SENATOR Christopher Bong Go assured his support for the programs and projects of the National Youth Commission as he backed the proposed 2025 budget of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Go, who serves as the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Youth, stressed the importance of ensuring that NYC is adequately funded to carry out its mission of empowering Filipino youth.

The NYC, as an attached agency under the DILG, plays an essential role in nurturing youth programs nationwide, from leadership and skills training to livelihood opportunities.

Go argued that sufficient funding for the NYC would help address issues faced by the Filipino youth today.

He emphasized that the commission’s programs provide valuable avenues for growth, civic engagement, and empowerment among the youth.

“The youth are the future leaders of our country,” Go added, “at kailangan natin silang bigyan ng tamang kasangkapan para maging handa sa mga hamon ng buhay.
