GOVERNOR REMINDS THE PUBLIC OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER NUTRITION FOR CHILDREN

/ 9 July 2024

BULACAN Governor Daniel Fernando stressed that proper nutrition is important for children even as he vowed to promote this through all life stages.

“This will help their growth and education. We must take good care of them and their future as they are not only the hope of the province but of the country,” Fernando said.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, the governor said, has started a massive information dissemination campaign this month, including the monitoring of Nutrition Month activities for local government unit counterparts, nutrition program implementers, and volunteers.

He said materials on good nutrition, several posts on the PGB official website, and good nutrition activities with senior citizens, persons with disability, pregnant women, adults, and children at the daycare centers, schools, and communities are aggressively being promoted.

The Provincial Government also lined up other activities for Nutrition Month.

These include the live streaming every Thursday on Radyo Kapitolyo, the conduct of Mutya ng Buntis Season 8 on July 24 which advocates the first 1,000 days of life; Infant and Young Child Feeding program; the conduct of the National Disability Rehabilitation Week via Zoom on July 17; and Disability Sensitivity Training with Orientation on Issuance of PWD ID and 10 Types of Disability on July 23.

Nutrition Month will culminate on July 30 with the recognition of the achievements and outstanding performance of nutrition advocates such as Barangay Health Workers, Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon, and the Municipal Nutrition Action Office in the province.
