OVERSEAS Filipino workers who are currently abroad and with expired National Certificates and Certificates of Competency can now renew their certificates online, according to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu said the online renewal of certificates of OFWs aims to ensure the immediate delivery of assistance to Filipinos, especially among OFWs.

“The issuance of the e-certificate is our commitment to improving efficiency through digital technology that would lead to enhanced access to employment opportunities for the Filipino workforce,” he said.

Applications for the renewal of their expired or due-to-expire NCs/CoCs may be submitted through email at [email protected] for processing by the TESDA Certification Office.

Among the requirements for online renewal of certificates are certificate of employment; verified contract; working permit or equivalent; accomplished Application Form; a high-resolution passport-size colored photo in JPG file format of the certificate owner in corporate attire, or wearing a collared shirt, and with a white background; a high-resolution photo in JPG file format of three specimen signatures of the certificate holder, in black ink, and on white background; and, a scanned copy of his/her Philippine passport including the immigration entry and exit stamps, and another of his/her Government-issued ID card with photo and signature.

The TESDA-issued NC has been included as one of the requirements of the then Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and Maritime Industry Authority for the deployment of OFWs abroad, including seafarers.

Further, TESDA has institutionalized the issuance of E-Certificates to strengthen the integrity of the assessment and certification system by reducing human interaction, enhancing efficiency, and adopting IT-based solutions in issuing NCs/CoCs to certified workers.

“The issuance of e-certificates is part of the agency’s commitment to tap digital technology in expediting its services for Filipino workers seeking employment here and abroad,” the TESDA chief said.
