A JOURNALISM student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines will join the 27th MCW Young Leaders Fellowship at New York University and Champlain College in July 2024.

John Rojell Elizaga will represent the Philippines in the fellowship after she was chosen among the 3,000 applicants received by the program globally

She was selected to be part of the year-long program that “equips young people with the skills necessary to help their community in areas such as education, health, and economic security.”

As a selected member of the fellowship, Elizaga will be trained in leadership development, global citizenship, self-awareness, and vision development.

“At first, I did not expect to get in na rin talaga since I saw how rigorous the stage will be, like there’s three stages: application, community survey, and final interview,” PUP quoted Elizaga as saying.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Manuel Muhi expressed his appreciation to all PUPians who continue to bring honor to Sintang Paaralan.

“Sa mga nakaraang taon, patuloy tayong nagtatagumpay sa iba’t-ibang larangan mula sa akademiko hanggang sa mga gawain sa kultura at sining. Ito ay patunay ng ating pagiging isang institusyon ng kahusayan at kagalingan,” Muhi said
