THE Biliran Province State University held an investiture ceremony for its fifth president, Dr. Victor Cañezo on Tuesday 23 Jan 2024).

The ceremony was conducted at the university gymnasium, with several international and local delegates in attendance to witness the event.

Cañezo was initially elected as president in 2019 and is set to serve his second term as president until May 2027.

The president also served as the officer-in-charge of the university from June 2017 to February 2019, before being elected for his first term.

Cañezo’s second term was secured after gaining a unanimous vote from the BiPSU Board of Regents.

He edged out three other candidates for the post — Dr. Roland Niez, Prof. Ramel Tomaquin, and Dr. Christopher Vicera.
