ALBAY HANDS OUT P3.7-M FOR MED STUDENTS IN 2023
MEDICAL students from Albay have received a total of P3.7 million in scholarship grants for 2023, its provincial education department said Thursday.
The amount was given to 19 qualified medical students across the province to support them with their education.
The Albay Provincial Information Office report said that this was after the PED released its accomplishment report for 2023, noting its steps toward addressing healthcare management and emergency cases.
These students are enrolled in nursing, pharmacy, radiologic technology, nutrition and dietetics, doctor of medicine, and doctor of dental medicine programs.
After their studies, they will be hired and deployed in their respective localities to help with healthcare services.
The scholarship grant covers living subsidies, partial tuition payments, books, lodgings, uniforms, and transportation allowances.
The Marcos government has been keen on helping address the shortage of healthcare workers in the country due to migration by tapping the Commission on Higher Education to respond to the challenge.
