ST. SCHO’S ALUMNA WINS BEST LEADING ACTRESS IN MUSICAL IN 36TH ALIW AWARDS
AN ALUMNA of St. Scholastica’s College Manila bagged Best Leading Actress in a Musical at the recently concluded 36th Aliw Awards.
Myramae Meneses, a graduate of the Bachelor of Music major in Voice, was recognized for her outstanding portrayal of Maria Clara in the sensational musical “Ibarra.”
Ibarra was directed by Frannie Zamora with a libretto by Jomar Fleras and music by Joed Balsamo. It is produced by the Tanghalang Una Obra.
The musical is a fresh take on the familiar affluent and educated protagonist of Jose Rizal’s novels that focuses on the love story between Crisostomo Ibarra and Maria Clara.
It also bagged other awards:
• Best Ensemble Performance
• Best Musical Director and Best Composer for Joed Balsamo
• Best Director for Frannie Zamora
• Best Lead Actor for Piolo Pascual
• Best Child Actor for JD Tena
• Best Featured Actor for Jon Joven Uy
