DONATIONS poured in for a student in Palawan after a video showing her using an old soy sauce bottle as a water bottle went viral.

A kindergarten teacher from the Panitian Elementary School, Malone Belmonte, shared her student KC’s’ story on Tiktok which has since gone viral.

Belmonte said that she was surprised when KC asked her help to open the bottle which she had filled with water.

“Naawa po talaga ako sa bata, kasi wala siyang sapat na gamit, even her bag, gamit na, parang pinasa na lang sa kanila, para may mapaglagyan ng gamit,” Belmonte said.

“‘Pag nagtuturo kasi sa isang remote area, parang sa amin na teacher, parang hindi na bago ‘yung mga ganun eksena,” she added.

Since the story broke out, KC’s family has received donations from netizens.

Belmonte said that the family received P10,000 along with grocery items.
